MS-514 PVG RHEOSTAT, SINGLE TUBE, PROTECTED

Construction is the same as open pattern with a layer of resistance
wire wound on an insulating, heat-resisting tube supported by cast
end cheeks. A sliding contact is fitted and three 4 mm. socket
terminals are provided for connections to the slider and both ends
of the winding so that the unit may be used as a rheostat or a
potentiometer. The sides and top of the rheostat is protected by
perforated guard to prevent easy contact with the winding or slider
when high voltage is being used and to prevent the possibility of
burns when the winding is hot. Types – (a) Used for 44 mm.
diameter tubes. (b) Used for 56 or 64 mm. diameter tubes.
