MS- 199 HERO ENGINE
A simple and easy to use apparatus with a heating source i.e bunsen burner and a stand to hang the flask during experiment.
Usefull apparatus for physics laboratory students in thermodynamics.
Hero’s Engine demonstrates the principle of jet propulsion in Thermodynamics.
The apparatus consists of a small Round Bottom Borosilicate 3.3 Flask with a rubber stopper and two tubes with tangentially oriented jets. Flask is with a collar to hang it above a heating source i.e Bunsen Burner. When water boils inside the flask, steam escapes through the jets and the flask spins.
Heat from the Bunsen burner produces steam, which is directed to spin the Round bottom glass apparatus around a central axis, creating rotational motion i.e Thermal energy is converted to mechanical energy. Comparable to an electric motor where Electrical energy is converted to mechanical energy).
