Used in physics Labs to Precision study sound waves and vibrations in a stretched string.
Demonstrates how sound pitch changes based on string length, tension, and thickness.
Analyse Resonance, Harmonics, Overtone, and Frequency with this premium PVG Sonometer, ideal for academic and lab experiments.
Composition of Sonometer:
• Hollow wooden box that makes the sound louder. Sturdy wooden box, bridge, and pulley system for stable and precise experimentation in classroom or lab settings.
• Thin metal wire or string stretched across the box. String length and tension can be controlled easily with tuning peg and weight system for accurate frequency measurements.
• Two movable wooden bridges to change the wire’s working length.
• Pulley and weight hanger to add tension to the wire.
• Complete with set of adjustable masses to vary string tension and study effects on pitch, amplitude, and vibration.
• Compatible with various string materials or thicknesses for diverse studies and experiments.
WORKING OF SONOMETER:
• Pull the wire tight by adding weights to the hanger.
• Strike a tuning fork and place it on the box.
• Move the bridges until the wire vibrates strongly with the same frequency (resonance)
