 MAGNETISING AND DEMAGNETISING SOLENOID

Low voltage for general use in Physics labs, for magnetising and demagnetising steel bars, strips, etc.

For use directly on a.c mains for both magnetising and demagnetising, and on d.c mains with resistance in series for magnetising only.

For Magnetising steel bar is placed in the solenoid and the current switched onand off once.

For Demagnetising the steel bar is placed in the solenoid and with the current switched on, is slowly withdrawn along the axis of the solenoid.

Apparatus consist of a solenoid wound with insulated copper wire and complete mounted on wooden base with on/off swtich and two 4 mm sockets.
