A resistance box is a passive electrical instrument that provides known, adjustable values of electrical resistance. Contains precision wire-wound coils made of constantan or manganin, connected in series, allowing users to add or select specific resistance levels using brass plugs or rotary dials for testing and calibration.

• Path of Least Resistance: Electricity flows through the easiest path available.
• Plug Type: Brass plugs sit tightly between brass blocks. Inserting a plug creates a short-cut that bypasses the hidden resistor coil beneath it. Removing the plug forces the current to travel through that specific resistor coil, adding its value to the total resistance.
