Sedimentary rocks are formed from the accumulation of weathered rock fragments, organic matter, or minerals in layers. These layers are then compacted and cemented together to form rock. Metamorphic rocks are formed when igneous and sedimentary rocks are subjected to high temperatures and pressures, causing them to change form.
