BAR BREAKING APPARTAUS

For demonstrating effect of expansion and contraction

Heavy casting with U shape uprights to accommodate a thick iron bar.One end is fitted with a  hand nut other drilled with a hole,  to  accommodates a cast iron breaking bar.

By heating the iron bar, the iron bar will expand and its tension decrease. Tension is restored using the metal knob. The tension increases as the rod cool, until the force on the smaller iron bar causes it to fracture.
